DOT – ICAO/IATA Dry Ice Hazardous Material Training Course
Mode of Transportation: Ground and Air (Domestic/International)
Regulations:
Department of Transportation - Title 49CFR Parts 100-180
ICAO/IATA – IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This Dry Ice Hazmat Shipping Training course is recommended to companies that ship dry ice or hazardous materials that must be cooled or refrigerated by dry ice. The information in this course explains when dry ice shipments are excepted from the regulations and when they are fully regulated. Equally important is understanding why dry ice requires special handling and attention to its package construction.
Although dry ice is excepted from the regulations by ground and rail, carriers still expect shippers to fully understand its transportation dangers and provide safe packaging before the package is tendered to them. Learn how to package your dry ice shipments safely, and when regulated, how to mark, label, and provide the proper documentation required by the carriers by ground and air (domestic and international).
