OSHA General Industry Programs

Plans to protect the health and safety of individuals at your facility who may come in contact with hazardous substances may be required. TMGI’s consultants will first work with you to collect the necessary information about your site and the chemicals that may be involved. We will then determine what plans may be necessary and help to prepare them in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements.

Health and safety plans that may be required include:

Emergency Action Plan – Plan to protect employees from injury during workplace emergencies

Fire Prevention Plan & Fire Protection – Plan that identifies fire hazards in the workplace and specifies proper procedures for minimizing risks related to these hazards

Emergency Response Plan – Plan to handle anticipated emergencies prior to commencement of emergency response operations

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Workplace hazard assessment - certified in writing - to determine PPE requirements for all job functions intended to reduce the risk of exposure to physical and/or respiratory hazards

Confined Space Entry Program – Procedures to protect employees from the hazards of entry into permit-required confined spaces

Lockout/Tagout Program – Procedures to protect employees from unexpected energization or start-up of machinery or equipment during servicing and maintenance

Bloodborne Pathogens Program – Control plan designed to eliminate or minimize exposure of employees for whom exposure to potentially infectious materials in the workplace can be reasonably anticipated

Hazard Communication Program – Written program listing hazardous chemicals in the workplace and specifying how the employer communicates workplace hazards of hazardous chemicals using labels and other forms of warning, material safety data sheets (MSDS) and employee information and training. Lack of a written hazard communication program is one of the most frequently cited OSHA violations.

Contact TMGI if you do not have these programs in place and let TMGI help you develop them.
